This round of funding for the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) initiative aims to boost economic prosperity and facilitate good job opportunities in Appalachia, the lower Mississippi Delta, and the Northern Border Regions. In collaboration with community partnerships, the initiative aligns with existing development plans to cater to local and regional workforce needs. Administered by the DOL Employment and Training Administration, WORC grants ranging from $150,000 to $1.5 million will fund projects that provide career training and supportive services to individuals in targeted regions, helping them secure stable, high-demand occupations.
